Welcome to the world of Aliante! Over the years, Aliante has gathered students across Europe and the United States to experience something truly exceptional and compete for an unparalleled prize to visit places they could never visit on their own. In Aliante 2008, the organizers once again have something unique in store for you.
The Aliante competition is centered on the promotion of a greater understanding of the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization, security policy, and international relations. Therefore, this experience not only rewards the winners – the prize represents just the icing on the cake – but all of the participants who will find the knowledge and contacts established during the competition beneficial in their further studies and professional careers.
In 2007, the Aliante competition winners had a unique chance to tour the United States and visit attractive places such as the largest naval base of the US Navy in Norfolk, Virginia, the Nebraska National Guard training center, and one of the most modern and highly-secured bases of the US Air Force in Colorado Springs.
But this year’s winners will have no reason to envy their predecessors – quite the contrary. They will have an opportunity to visit the northernmost NATO base that lies beyond the Arctic Circle within the harsh but charming Nordic nature. In other words, the Winners‘ Trip will lead to Norway where the winners will experience 10 unforgettable days.
To get there, first, you have to challenge yourself. The winners will have to succeed on both the national and international level by proving their knowledge and ability to cooperate in an international environment under truly difficult conditions. And to ensure a genuine challenge, the international final round will be organized by real professionals of the Czech Army – the elite 102nd Reconnaissance Battalion of Prostejov.
In summary, this year you can expect two rounds of knowledge-based questions, an international final, and the superb 10-day excursion to Norway, which will take place in August 2008. Click here for more information.
